چکیده

Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural changes needed for project-based organisations (PBOs) synthesise their project operations and services following servitisation strategy. It addresses question how PBOs should change organisational structure fitting with service provision Design/methodology/approach This followed an exploratory research method using a single in-depth case evidence collected from 51 managers five different industry sectors: construction, oil gas, IT, logistics health care Findings Capitalising on design theory, it has been found that successfully extending PBOs' outcomes into system both output extra requires adjustment creates greater value companies customers. required divided main categories: (1) collaboration cross-project customers; (2) flexible workflow, (3) decentralised decision-making, (4) wide span control (5) governance. However, findings indicate success can only be ensured by particular mutually coordinated designs suitable balance products Practical implications presents vital indicators practitioners when deploying within operational strategy adjusting organisation's design. Structural Similarity and Adaptation

Most commonly, case-based reasoning is applied in domains where attribute value representations of cases are su cient to represent the features relevant to support classi cation, diagnosis or design tasks. Distance functions like the Hamming-distance or their transformation into similarity functions are applied to retrieve past cases to be used to generate the solution of an actual problem. Oft...

Structural Adaptation with TOPO

The approach of TOPO was originally developed in the FABEL project[1] to support architects in designing buildings with complex installations. Supplementing knowledge-based design tools, which are available only for selected subtasks, TOPO aims to cover the whole design process. To that aim, it relies almost exclusively on archived plans. Input to TOPO is a partial plan, and output is an elabor...

Web Accessibility through Adaptation

This paper presents the eAccessibilityEngine tool, which employs adaptation techniques to automatically render web pages accessible by users with different types of disabilities. Specifically, the eAccessibilityEngine is capable of automatically transforming web pages to attain AAA-level conformance to the W3C WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and to “Section 508” of the US Rehabilitatio...

Adaptation through Translocation

Papers by and, in this issue of Neuron, describe how massive and rapid translocation of specific elements of the phototransduction cascades in different phyla, namely, the G protein (transducin) in vertebrate rods and light-sensitive TRPL channels in the microvillar rhabdomeres of Drosophila, contribute to photoreceptor adaptation.

Resilience through adaptation

Adaptation of agents through learning or evolution is an important component of the resilience of Complex Adaptive Systems (CAS). Without adaptation, the flexibility of such systems to cope with outside pressures would be much lower. To study the capabilities of CAS to adapt, social simulations with agent-based models (ABMs) provide a helpful tool. However, the value of ABMs for studying adapta...
